Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

The Royal Flush cocktail is a fruity whiskey cocktail that’s smooth, easy to sip, and perfect for both whiskey fans and those just easing into it. With just three ingredients—Crown Royal, cranberry juice, and peach schnapps—it’s simple to make but full of layered fruity flavors.

Named after the highest hand in poker, the Royal Flush is a great pick for poker night or any fun gathering. The combo of tart cranberry, sweet peach, and rich whiskey notes makes for a drink that’s balanced, a little fancy, and definitely worth a try.

What is Crown Royal?

Crown Royal is a Canadian whisky that’s been around since 1939—it was originally created as a tribute for the visiting King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. It started out as a Canada-only release, but once it hit the U.S. in the '60s, it quickly became a favorite and is now enjoyed all over the world.

These days, there are several fun flavor variations like Apple, Peach, Vanilla, and even Maple. You can easily swap one of those in to give your cocktail a little seasonal twist or extra flavor boost!

Ingredient Notes

A Crown Royal Flush is an easy drink to make that only requires three simple ingredients.

  • Crown Royal whiskey - This Canadian whiskey is traditionally used for a Royal Flush, but you can substitute it with any brand of whisky you have on hand. You can also use any type of Crown Royal flavor variation in this drink, such as Apple, Peach, Vanilla, Black, and so forth.
  • Cranberry juice - Use your favorite 100% cranberry juice that has a strong flavor and isn't overly sweet. If your cranberry juice is particularly tart you could always add a dash of simple syrup to your drink to balance it out.
  • Peach schnapps - This sweet fruit-flavored liqueur balances the tart flavors of the cranberry juice.  Any brand will work fine.

Garnish Suggestions

  • Orange slices
  • Fresh or frozen cranberries
  • Cocktail cherries
  • Orange zest spiral
  • Peach slice

    Ice Cubes

1 ounce Crown Royal Whiskey, 1 ounce Peach Schnapps, 2 ounces Cranberry Juice
  • Place the lid on the shaker and shake well for 30 seconds.
  • Fill a serving glass with ice and pour in the shaken drink.
  • Add any desired garnish and enjoy immediately.

Notes

    • Use large ice cubes to help prevent the ice from melting quickly and watering down the cocktail too much.
    • You can add an optional splash of soda water to this cocktail if desired. This will give it a bubbly and refreshing feel without altering the taste of the drink too much.
    • Use a little simple syrup to balance out your cocktail. If you find this drink too tart for your liking, add a dash of simple syrup to balance it out.
    • For a more fruity drink, you could add a splash of raspberry liqueur like Chambord or add a splash of Malibu rum for a hint of tropical flavor.
