Spinach and Pineapple Smoothie

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This spinach and pineapple smoothie is a quick, 5-ingredient blend that’s perfect for an easy weekday breakfast or snack. It comes together in just a few minutes and is packed with feel-good ingredients that keep you going all day long.

It’s creamy, refreshing, and naturally sweet thanks to the pineapple and banana. Plus, the spinach adds that boost of greens without overpowering the flavor. I like to toss in some chia seeds for extra texture and a little protein kick—but it’s super easy to customize however you like. Whether you're keeping it simple or mixing in your favorite add-ins, this smoothie is a go-to for busy mornings!

Ingredient Notes

My favorite recipes are the ones that are made with just a few simple ingredients.

  • Baby Spinach - I love adding baby spinach to EVERYTHING. It tastes good, filled with so many nutrients and is easy to add. Feel free to use kale or regular spinach.
  • Bananas - Freeze bananas ahead of time to make it easier and creamier. The more ripe your bananas are, the sweeter your smoothie will be. Freezing bananas for smoothies is a great way to reduce waste with ripe bananas.
  • Pineapples - Chop a small pineapple up into chunks and freeze overnight. Fresh pineapples can also be used. If you don't have pineapples lying around, try frozen mango pieces.
  • Chia Seeds - Chia seeds add a little protein and add to the thickness of the smoothie.
  • Coconut Milk - Coconut milk is my favorite non-diary milk to use for smoothies because if it's texture and creamy taste. Oat milk and almond milk are great substitutes.

See the recipe card below for ingredient list with measurements.

How to Make a Spinach and Pineapple Smoothie

Making this quick smoothie is as simple as adding all five ingredients to your blender and processing until smooth. You can customize the thickness of the smoothie by adjusting the amount of milk you add.

Expert Tips

  • Freeze the fruit - Freezing your fruit in smaller chunks ahead of time makes sure that you always have a thicker creamier green smoothie. It also helps with meal-prep so that's a bonus!
  • Milk first - If your blender blades are on the bottom, add the coconut milk to the blender first for easier blending.
  • Adjust to your preference - Add a little more milk if you like a thinner, runnier smoothie. Or add some honey/maple syrup for a dash of extra sweetness. This recipe is nearly impossible to mess up so don't be afraid to play around a little.
