Ingredient Notes
This pumpkin pie smoothie recipe uses just a few simple ingredients that you can find in any grocery store.
- Banana - I recommend using frozen banana to make this smoothie thick and creamy. When I have uneaten bananas on the counter, I peel them and stick them in a container in the freezer so they're ready to go whenever I need them. If you don't have frozen bananas on hand, you can use a fresh banana and add a few ice cubes.
- Yogurt - You can use your favorite type of yogurt in this recipe. I used a dairy free yogurt, but plain Greek yogurt would also be a great choice.
- Pumpkin Purée - Make sure to use real pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling. You can make your own pumpkin puree or use canned pumpkin. This recipe is a great way to use up a little leftover pumpkin puree.
- Milk - Use milk of choice - either plant-based milks or whole milk will work fine. I used coconut milk in mine.
- Vanilla - Vanilla extract enhances the flavors and adds a little hint of sweetness. If you're using either vanilla yogurt or vanilla flavored milk, you can omit this ingredient.
- Cinnamon & Pumpkin Pie Spice - Even though pumpkin pie spice already contains cinnamon, I like to add a little extra to really bring out the flavor in this smoothie. Note: If you're outside of the US, pumpkin pie spice is called Mixed Spice.
- Maple Syrup - I have used a little bit of pure maple syrup to sweeten this recipe. Not much sweetener is needed because of the sweetness of the bananas. If you don't want to use maple syrup, brown sugar would be a great addition.
